Jennifer Wiese, Workroom Social, sewing studio based in New York City

About Jennifer

Hi! I’m Jennifer Wiese, founder of Workroom Social, a sewing studio based in Brooklyn, New York. I believe that everyone can lead a joyful, creative, and confident life, and I know that sewing your own clothes (and wearing these you-made clothes) is a surefire way to find joy, creativity, and confidence every day. I'm on a mission to build communities, stimulate creativity, and build self-esteem by empowering our students to sew clothes they're proud to wear.

About Workroom Social

Workroom Social is a woman-owned, Asian American-owned business based in Brooklyn, NY.

Our Expertise and Approach

At Workroom Social, we teach adults how to sew clothes that fit their individual styles and unique body shapes and sizes.

We create a supportive and non-competitive environment in all of our classes. Perfection is never our goal in the classroom. Students should expect that their skills will improve with practice over time.

Our team of professional designers and sewists make garment sewing approachable, and it’s our goal to provide students with the confidence and knowledge they need to continue practicing sewing at home.

Our Belief in the Power of Sewing

Through sewing we build communities, stimulate creativity, and help improve our students' self-esteem and confidence by empowering them to sew the clothes they want to wear.

We work hard every day to promote a sense of accomplishment in our students and customers by reminding them of their abilities. Together we learn from each #sewingfail and celebrate every #sewingwin, no matter how small.

We use our shared passion for sewing to connect with those we might not meet otherwise, and we create opportunities for our students to develop relationships that go far beyond sewing itself.

About Our Website and Blog

WorkroomSocial.com is all about sewing! In addition to producing original content, we love featuring others in the sewing community who are doing awesome things. We work hard to give proper credit when we feature images that are not our own. If you see an item that is improperly credited, please reach out and we’ll gladly make necessary corrections. Interested in writing about Workroom Social? We are so flattered! We’re excited to be included on your blog or website and simply ask that you credit us and link back to us if you do use any of our images or other content.

In addition to featuring amazing sewists and makers in the blogging world, we also like to promote businesses that we love and think you’ll love too. Sometimes we write about a product or service because it relates to other content we’re featuring, while other times one of our favorite businesses might ask us specifically to write about them. WorkroomSocial.com contains both paid and unpaid advertising banners and graphics and some affiliate links. An affiliate link is one that provides a commission on sales if a linked product is purchased. As a small business, we love supporting and spreading the word about other businesses that we like and find valuable. Feel confident that we won’t recommend something to our readers that we wouldn’t use or buy ourselves.
