On Saturday, September 17, we’re excited to open our studio doors in celebration of Biona—our latest rayon challis fabric collection designed by Jean Johnson!

Visit us to see our fabrics in person, shop both fabrics and indie sewing patterns, and learn how to select color and pattern for your garment sewing. See our full schedule, details, and COVID-policy below. No registration needed for drop-in shopping. Register for other events above.

COVID-19 continues to impact our world. We ask that all visitors to Workroom Social be fully vaccinated with booster shots.

We require face masks at our Open Studio unless you present proof of a negative rapid test taken no earlier than 8:00 a.m. on September 17. If you test positive, please do not attend. If you do not test, you must wear a face mask.

Face masks are encouraged for all.

Wearing Color and Mixing Prints, a talk with designer Jean Johnson

Join Jean and learn how to mix different prints together in the same outfit or garment, which sewing patterns are perfect for print-mixing and why, and how to get comfortable dressing boldly in your everyday life.
Registration required. Proceeds benefit the American Indian Community House.

About Paid Registration

Some of our Open Studio events require paid registration. Proceeds from registrations will be donated to American Indian Community House, and Workroom Social will be matching the final donation.

The American Indian Community House (AICH) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization serving the needs of Native Americans residing in New York City. AICH works to improve and promote the well-being of the American Indian Community and to increase the visibility of American Indian cultures in an urban setting in order to cultivate awareness, understanding, and respect.
