At Workroom Social, we create fashion fabrics with your handmade garments in mind.

Hand-painted stripes in coordinating frost and tropics is light and airy. Use our striped favorite to brighten up a winter look with Style Arc’s Elsie Woven Overshirt. We also think this Ombre Stripe color combo would make a flattering Marigold Jumpsuit or Trousers by Tilly and the Buttons. Because our fabric is approximately 55″ wide, even tall sewists can cut a pair of pants on the crossgrain to get those vertical stripes!

Super soft to the touch, our dress-weight rayon floats away from the body, which makes it perfect for styles that demand a flattering drape. It’s easier to cut, to sew, and to press than slippery, slippery silks, and it is more comfortable to wear than printed polyesters. Our rayons are a great choice for dresses, blouses, skirts and soft linings. Need a little more structure in your me-made garment? Consider underlining our rayon for even more options.

All of Workroom Social’s rayons are fashion width 54-56”—not the standard 44” produced by many quilting companies (even so-called fashion-fabrics!). You get 25% more fabric with every yard, and more options when choosing the sewing pattern styles you want to sew. (Because who doesn’t like to cut on the crossgrain every now and then?!)

Best of all, Workroom Social Fabrics feature fashion-forward prints that are sophisticated AND fun. Not too naive or cutesy, our focus is to create designs that adult women will feel confident wearing whether to work, to a party, or just out grocery shopping.

Care instructions

Wash with like colors in cold water with mild detergent. We recommend washing your you-made clothes in a mesh bag in the washing machine. You can also wash on gentle cycle, wash by hand, or dry clean. Machine dry your garment while still in a mesh bag. Remove from dryer early, and hang garment for a final air dry. The wrinkles should fall out easily. You can also line dry or lay flat to dry.
